The point is that healing is not a problem for God. The only hard part is to believe what he said about it so that people can receive their healing.

Jesus Healed People But What Was He Really Teaching Us?

God has given each of us the right to choose. He said: “I have placed before you life and death and blessing and cursing; So choose life, so that both you and your descendants may live” (Deuteronomy 19:30). We must choose to accept what God offers. We must do it – “by force” says Matthew 11:12.

If you want healing, you can’t just sit around and wait for God to pour it out on you. You have to do what you want so that you can walk in faith and get what is rightfully yours!

Acceptance requires active faith. Having faith in God and His word is the ultimate answer to every problem no matter what others say. People do not lack good advice. I’m sure you understand this, especially if you believe in God for healing. Chances are, you’ve also noticed that most of what people say isn’t effective advice. I can tell you from experience, the answers that really work come from one place – the word.

God’s word has the power to fulfill it. Furthermore, God’s Word teaches us to think that His way is higher, better, and wiser (Isaiah 8:11-55). This can be done when his words, his way of thinking, his other thoughts and opinions are removed. Then you can pray with faith and get what you want.

Healing The Soul Of A Woman

Jesus said, “Therefore I say to you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you receive them and you will have them” (Mark 11:24). The word receive is a verb. It means “to take”. We can say: “What you wish for when you pray, believe that you will get them.” This is a short lesson on faith! Faith believes that when she prays she gets what she needs. This is what we must do when we pray for healing. Like a dog picking a bone, we must heal. He holds onto that bone and refuses to let go!

The point is, if you pray about something, you haven’t really prayed in faith, but don’t take it. If you get up in prayer and say, “I don’t have it. I’m still sick, I still feel bad,” then you haven’t got it… you certainly haven’t.

You cannot look at circumstances to determine whether you are healed. 2 Corinthians 4:18 explains that you should not “look at the things that are seen, but at the things that are not seen. Because what is seen is temporary. But things that cannot be seen are eternal.

See your healing while praying. See yourself in perfect health. Take it by faith and hold on to it. When you get it, you have it. And if you’ve got it, you say you’ve got it. You “call things as they are” (Romans 4:17).

To get to that place, read the healing scriptures aloud and receive each promise. Look at the scriptures with your eyes and hear them speak with your mouth with your ears. Be sure they enter your heart and you can release your faith. You say, “Thank God, I believe I’m healed, I’ll take it!”

Years ago, my friend Dodie Osteen went through a similar recovery. A report was given that his liver cancer was terminal. The doctors had no hope. So Dodi went home from the hospital. She and her husband took a coercive action! They agreed on the promises of healing in God’s Word. They confessed the word of God on his body. They were ruthless.

Dodi faithfully used those healing scriptures like medicine every day. He fought the good fight of faith, using the sword of the Word to resist fear and all the lies of Satan (Ephesians 6:17; James 4:7). It has been a long battle, but Dodie has been completely cured of cancer and is free today. In fact, she has been cancer free for over 22 years. He says he is fine by continuing to take God’s medicine.

Biblical Purposes Divine Healing

Proverbs 4:20-22 describes this process for healing. He says: “My son, listen to my words. Listen to my words, they will not leave your eyes. Keep them in your heart. For those who find them, it is life and healing to their whole body. The Hebrew word translated salam means “medicine”. The healing Bible is God’s medicine for your body. So take that medicine every day, keep at it and get your cure.

The point is that as a child of the living God you are more than a conqueror in Christ (Romans 8:37)! So if you have faith for healing, you can expel the devil from your life with the word of God! If full recovery takes time, don’t give up. Be determined to win! Also, don’t wallow in self-pity or seek sympathy from others. This is not what you want. All you need is faith.

Let’s look at the important lesson that Jesus taught his disciples about faith and receiving from God. In Mark 11, we see that he commanded them to “believe in God” (verse 22). As an explanation of this Bible, the margin of my Bible says, “Have faith in God.” When we are born again we are given faith and we are given the “measure of faith” (Romans 3:12). This is the faith that God gives us at that time. But, we have a responsibility to nurture and grow our faith.

Faith in healing comes when we meditate on what God’s Word says about healing. When we read healing scriptures, we strengthen our faith to receive healing. A bodybuilder constantly lifts weights to build muscle. He gets stronger by working day by day. We build our faith the same way—practicing the healing scriptures over and over again until we are strong enough in faith to take our healing from the realm of the spirit to the realm of the natural. Hebrews 1:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Jesus told the few who were healed that their faith healed them. (See Matthew 9:22; Mark 10:52 and Luke 17:19.) And faith will work for you as it did for the Bible.

You are sure that reading secular magazines or picture books does not provide faith for healing. To strengthen your faith, you must read the Bible and believe that God is speaking to you. Romans 10:17 explains, “So faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.” Find scriptures that apply to your situation and take those promises and apply them to your life. This was the truth that changed my life—knowing that the Bible was God’s word to me and that I could take it and do something with it (John 17:17).

The Bible says what God says about things. The men of old, anointed by the Holy Spirit, wrote what came from God’s heart. Regarding healing, they wrote “by your stripes you were healed” (1 Peter 2:24).
