Ticks are disease-carrying pests that can become a major problem in hot seasons. To get rid of ticks at home, try to keep your home tidy and clutter-free so you have fewer places to hide. Keep dirty laundry off the floor and wash clothes and linens in hot water to kill any ticks that may be attached to them. Sweep and vacuum floors, furniture and pet beds frequently to remove ticks and eggs hiding in cracks and crevices. After your home is cleaned, sprinkle your floors and furniture with a boric acid-based insecticide to kill any remaining tick eggs and larvae. You can also use pyrethrin-based pesticides to kill adult ticks, but be careful with cats, because pyrethrin is toxic to them. If you have pets at home, ask your veterinarian to recommend a flea control treatment or medication. If you still can’t get rid of your tick infestation, call an exterminator to treat your home. To keep ticks under control in your garden, be sure to cut the grass and rake the dead leaves. Treat your garden with a tick-killing pesticide approved in your area. In general, the best time to use one of these treatments is at the end of May or at the beginning of June, when the outdoor tick population begins. Last week it became very clear that we need to move our overcrowded chickens to a new pasture. They looked a little rough and had access to fresh, growing and green things. So we picked a day and started catching the chickens one by one. I held each one on my stomach while I clipped their wings and then pulled them out into an unmown pasture.

Being in the field I’m in, I always get questions about how to treat Lyme disease. I remember others were bitten long ago and are now facing the debilitating fallout. All I could think about was all these people and the many things I know that have suffered; Now I will be one of them!
All the books I have are on how to treat Lyme, or its associated infections, many more on the way. I was looking for something to do
To prevent the infection from spreading, or even starting, if possible. My research led me to the following solution which I hope will help many people.
If you do not know how to remove a tick, it is important not to squeeze the tick or separate its head from the body. I have seen great results with using a drop of lavender or a drop of peppermint essential oil to make the tick come out. It didn’t work for me. I used the cotton wool to turn the tick in a circle until it was removed.

Tick-borne diseases tend to attack the nervous system. So it’s important to stay calm. I use 15 drops of kava kava tincture for relaxation.

You can make this pasta without the plan, but I like to take advantage of its appeal. Place a pinch of powder in a cup and add drops of the solution until it can be applied. Put the pulp on the bite and then wash it with fresh water when it dries. Come back often. I covered the glue with a piece of plastic and added a heating pad to increase the paint action.

After the tick was removed, I removed all sugar from my diet and began to eat very simply to give my body room to fight the infection.
I started taking a large dose of astragalus tincture. Bohner recommends 3,000 mg daily for the first month after a bite and then dropping to 1,000 mg later as prevention. The brand of tincture I chose was 46 drops three times a day.
I chose to avoid the ER and remove the tick myself, but that is a very personal choice. We keep the tick in a jar and you should too if you can. I have no confirmation as to the diseases that the tick that bit me brought, if any, because I chose not to dissect. Since the infection didn’t get out of hand and flood my system, I don’t expect any consequences.
Tick bites can be very serious. If you suspect you have been bitten and there are signs of a problem, it is important to treat the bite aggressively (in the manner of your choice). This summer, make a plan for what to do if someone in your family is bitten. Also, know your limits. If you choose to treat yourself naturally, set metrics around your treatment plan and know when to seek professional attention.
Now I have a plan and it can save me a few days of stress and panic in the future.
