How To Create A Quick Search In Epicor
How To Create A Quick Search In Epicor – If you’re like many customers, you probably have a TON of BAQs that you’re not sure if anyone uses. Here’s a quick trick you can use to start logging every time an Epicor BAQ is run (and by whom) using a simple BPM.
The first thing to note when running a BAQ in Epicor is to call DynamicQuery.Execute() or DynamicQuery.ExecuteByID(). Execute is run when you click the review button in the BAQ designer, while ExecuteByID is run in most other places. And like everything else in Epicor, these are standard BO calls that have BPMs associated with them. So start by going to System Management / Business Process Management / Method Directive Maintenance and use the ‘Method Code’ button to select DynamicQuery.Execute:

Go to File / New / New Postprocessing to add a new reference to this BO type. Fill in a reference name, a group and click the design button to start editing the BPM. Now, if I’m at home, I’ll just use the standard code editor here and that’s it, but given how many different clients are out there, I think we should write a this. The following steps are appropriate. At a high level, here’s what we need to do:
Duplicate A Purchase Order
OK, so make that change first. To do so, click on the gray canvas area (make sure nothing else is selected) and at the bottom of the window select the New button and name it ‘NewUD01’ and select in ‘Select type’ for type:
When the “Select Type” dialog box appears, you need to give it some time to fill in its full list (as long as you click down, it will continue to load). After loading, expand Ice.Contracts.BO.UD01 and select Ice.Tablesets.UpdExtUD01Tableset (which is the UpdateExt table for UD01):
Now we are ready to populate this table. To do so, drag the ‘Fill Table by Query’ widget to the canvas and attach it to the ‘Start’ node:
Now click on the new ‘Populate table by query’ widget and click on the link that says ‘designed’ to specify the query we need to populate this table:

We won’t use this query much because we already have most of the data points we need for our logging. Just add the table to the canvas:
Now go back to the main canvas with the ‘Fill table by search’ widget selected, click on the link where it says ‘specified’ table and select NewUD01.UD01 and click to OK:
In this dialog we can read everything from the query or the BO executables to our UpdateExt table configuration method that we defined earlier. Start with the company row by clicking the drop-down menu in the Binding column and selecting ‘field: Company_company1’:
The language editor appears. Double-click Parameters / queryDS / DynamicQuery / QueryID in the left pane and click OK:

Now fill in the remaining fields – we need to use the same word processing for the rest of the columns. For Date01 we will use the ‘Today’ function:
With all our mapping in place, we can close the ‘Setup Table Mapping’ window and return to the main canvas where we add and add the ‘Invoke BO Method’ widget:
You want to click on the newly added widget and first select the link to set the BO mode as UD01.UpdateExt:
Then use the given parameter link to define how we pass our data to this BO method.

Here we will see this current data collection column. Our picks here are as follows:
Okay, so now if you press OK and get to this BPM, you should be good to go. Run a BAQ using the BAQ designer and make sure to register them (try it often for a BAQ and make sure to update the row when it exists). Assuming all is well, you’ll want to repeat these steps for DynamicQuery.ExecuteByID to capture these runs.
