How Do I Let The Holy Spirit Control My Mind

How Do I Let The Holy Spirit Control My Mind – Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, while those who are led by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit of God. Therefore, let your sinful nature control your mind leading to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. Romans 8:5-6, NLT

Guilty impulse invites you to a fun spirit dance, masquerading as a friend, but your time together turns into a disgusting fiasco of guilt and shame. Your thoughts can easily be swayed by Satan’s seductive dance. On the opposite side of the scale, yield to the control of the mind of the Holy Spirit, who will deliver you from the mind games of the evil influences. The realm of the Spirit has life and peace that leads you into an exciting experience of God’s movements.

How Do I Let The Holy Spirit Control My Mind

The Apostle Paul describes the real conflict between sin and the Spirit controlling or controlling. His own life was an honest story of wanting to live for Christ, but submitting to desire; an ongoing daily battle for Christians today. Mind-directed thoughts lead to mental freedom, while sinful thoughts cause us pain. So how do we win the war between the ears? What is God’s solution to fallen creation?

“Thanks be to God who saved me in Jesus Christ our Lord! Therefore, in my mind I am a slave to the law of God, but in my sinful nature I am a slave to the law of sin” (Romans 7:25).

Just as I trust a bank to keep track of my money, I trust the Spirit to keep a portion of my sanity safe. By faith, I take control of my thoughts and surrender them to Christ, because He is doing better. Satan cannot take away what I have hidden from my Savior, but when I let my thoughts run unchecked by the Spirit, my mind is exposed to lies and deception. Lazy thinking leads to bad thinking, which can lead to bad behavior. And mental cleansing comes from the Holy Scriptures, worshiping the Lord of creation and the community involved.

When my soul absorbs the truth, it is mentally cleansed. Like the anticipation of a delicious meal, we take the time to meditate on God’s Word, and the nectar of Jesus’ love satisfies the deepest desires of our souls. The truth that keeps going through our minds makes us more like Christ. By worshiping our Creator and studying His creations, we increase our mental capacity to have practical knowledge of the Holy One. In addition, thoughts that are pregnant with reality give birth to healthy relationships. A community of mutual interest can listen to each other and learn from their shared experiences. Intimacy with friends frees us from selfish words and gives us responsibility for change. When we surrender to Spirit-controlled thoughts, we experience true life and peace.

“Those who live to satisfy their sinful nature reap decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will receive eternal life from the Spirit of God.” (Galatians 6:8, NLT).

When it comes to the Holy Spirit, most evangelicals fall into one of two extremes. Some treat it in a strange, mystical way, causing confusion. Their experiences with the Spirit seem to always coincide with a moment of emotional ecstasy, accompanied by the swell of music in a worship service or a strange experience: “I was praying to call Rachel, and suddenly I saw a billboard. Her eyes were same color, and I felt goosebumps—I knew it was the Holy Spirit!”

Other Christians ignore his ministry. They believe in the Holy Spirit, but they treat it like I treat my pituitary gland: I’m so thankful it’s there; I know it’s important for something; I never want to lose it. . . but I don’t really mess with it. For these Christians, the Holy Spirit is mobile, not dynamic

But Jesus made the most amazing promise to his disciples about the Holy Spirit that I don’t think many of us take seriously: it is for their benefit that if they receive the Spirit, it will return to heaven. (John 16:7). Ask Christians if they want Jesus

The Voice Of The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit appears 59 times in the book of Acts, and in 36 of those appearances he speaks. “But wait,” some say, “we can’t use the Apostles as a model for our time!” The ambassadors were a unique group.” I understand that Acts represents a special era in apostolic history. But you cannot convince me that the only book that God gave us and the example of the church walking in the Spirit of God is full of stories that do not have nothing in common with our book. As John Newton said, “Is the first thing on which the early church depended so much—the grace of the Spirit—nothing for us today?” How we feel his presence

So how do we experience his presence? We certainly see this question very abused. As I noted, many have equated his movements with emotional turmoil, irrational influences, or a random confluence of events. As I study the Scriptures, I see six ways of His presence:

One of the most surprising discoveries I made while writing Jesus, the sequence. . . (Zondervan, 2014) How many times does Paul equate the fullness of the Spirit with the depth of the gospel. For example, in Ephesians 3:14–18, the apostle prays that the Ephesians will be empowered to understand the love of Christ—its breadth, length, height, and depth—”so that they may be filled with the fullness of God.” According to Paul, these two things—knowing the love of Christ in the gospel and being filled with “the fullness of God”—are synonymous.

The Puritan Thomas Goodwin compared this story to the story of a boy whose father took him in his arms and said, “Thou art my son, and I love thee!” – he said. At this point, the child is no longer the father’s child, legally speaking. But when he is in his father’s arms, he feels even closer. When God’s Spirit fills us, he pours God’s love into our hearts and raises our spirits to say: “Abba, Father” (Rom. 5:5, 8:15).

Prayer To Be Filled With The Holy Spirit

The Spirit’s primary vehicle for moving and speaking into our lives is the Scriptures. God’s Spirit works in us to shape us into who God wants us to be, because then we will do the things God wants us to do. Almost every time we see the phrase “the will of God” in the Bible, it refers to the formation of our moral character in response to the gospel. I’m not sure it’s something you can put a percentage on, but I would say 99.4 percent of the instructions God gives us can be found in the Bible. The Spirit conforms us to the character of Christ (Rom. 8:29; 12:1–2) and helps us walk in the paths of wisdom (Prov. 2:20–22). Thus we do God’s will.

In Acts, the most common way the Spirit speaks (other than Scripture and Scripture) is through the church. For example, in Acts 13:2: “When [the church] prayed to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit.
